EXPERIMENTO GALILEO-GALILEI

Aristóteles y otros pensadores medievales creían que el estado natural de los cuerpos es el estado de descanso. Galileo se opuso a este concepto.

Galileo observó que, cuando se hacía rodar una pelota en un plano inclinado, su velocidad aumentaba.

De manera similar, cuando se hizo rodar el plano inclinado, su velocidad disminuyó.

Luego intentó rodar en un plano horizantal. Galileo repitió este experimento haciendo la superficie muy lisa. Observó que la pelota seguía moviéndose durante más tiempo. Galileo sugirió que la velocidad de la bola que se mueve en un plano horizontal se mantendría constante en ausencia de una fuerza externa o de una fuerza de fricción.

Galileo sugirió que la tendencia natural de todos los cuerpos es oponerse a un cambio en su estado de reposo o movimiento.
